1. Finalise Your Last Payroll of the Tax Year
- Ensure all payments for the tax year ending 5 April 2025 are processed

- Send the Full Payment Submission (FPS) to HMRC on or before payday
2. Submit Final Employer Payment Summary (EPS)
- Send the EPS by 19 April 2025 if you:

3. Provide Employees with P60 Forms
- Must be given to all employees who are still working for you on 5 April 2025

- If you provided taxable benefits (e.g. company cars, health insurance), you must:
- Submit P11D and P11D(b) forms to HMRC
- Give a copy to employees by 6 July 2025
- Pay any Class 1A National Insurance by 22 July 2025 (or 19 July by post)
5. Update Employee Payroll Records
- Update tax codes as per HMRC’s new notices
- Remove any leavers and carry forward continuing employees
- Apply any changes to National Insurance thresholds and student loan repayments
6. Prepare for the New Tax Year (from 6 April 2025)
- Download the latest payroll software updates
- Check new rates for:
- National Minimum and Living Wage
- National Insurance bands
- Student loan and postgraduate loan thresholds
- Statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
- Issue new starter checklists or P45s for new hires
7. Retain Payroll Records
- Keep payroll records for at least 3 years
- Include payslips, P60s, FPS/EPS submissions, and employee information
